The movement of conscientious objectors, those who refused to perform military service for reasons of conscience, became a civil disobedience movement in Spain in the 1990s, with parallels in Europe. More than a thousand young people ended up being sentenced to prison. One of them was Fernando Rodríguez Peñaño, director of the documentary whose name appeared in graffiti calling for his freedom, along with Goldi, Budo, Aguiño, and other young Galicians who led that courageous revolt that forced the government to abolish compulsory military service.
