A contrast between two kinds of attitudes to gay liberation in Adelaide.
Quite the compact short film with its 3 minute runtime. But what Pride and Snide is able to showcase is a very historically significant glimpse into the decisive opinions on homosexuality amongst the general public. Hearing the prejudice and support with accompanied visuals of topically appropriate toilet stall tags littering the screen really emphasizes the ugly truth of prejudice that was out at the time.
Despite the lack of clear intent with its experimental edits and unnamed protagonist in the stall, Pride and Snide definitely deserves renewed interest with its historical importance for Australian Queer History.
