Daniel Laurie is a British supervising sound editor based at Skywalker Sound. He began his career working in the cutting rooms of Soho and Pinewood Studios in the UK, where he developed his skills in dialogue, ADR, and supervising sound editing.
His filmography includes work on titles such as Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Before those, he worked on other genre films, including The Good Thief (2002), as well as other smaller-scale dialogue-driven features early in his career.
On the television side, Laurie earned significant recognition for his work on Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012), for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie, or Special. He has also been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) for Agatha All Along (2024).
Among his other recognitions, Laurie has been nominated for several Golden Reel Awards (which honour excellence in sound editing) for his work on animated and live-action features, including Sing 2 (2021), for which he was part of the team nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing for Feature Animation.
