Three years have passed since Guido's death, and the time has come for Maria to start over, even romantically. Meanwhile, Lele asks Bianca to take the plunge, but he discovers she's still married to her ex-husband.

Bianca is determined to divorce him so she can marry Lele, who has since reunited with an old acquaintance, Virginia, while researching a rare disease. Furthermore, Annuccia faces trouble.

Bianca finds herself struggling on two fronts: seeking information about her ex-husband, and jealousy over Virginia, which grows despite Lele's reassurances. Maria receives a tempting job offer.
