Construction of the Dream Valley cottage community is nearly complete. Maxim Miloradovich brings Nadya to his newly built house and proposes marriage. Nadya's ex-husband, Lev, is being released on parole but can't find work in the city. He's considering moving to Moscow to try his luck there. Lev and Nadya's son, Kostya, has been waiting for his father to return from prison for two years and is now upset that he's leaving again. Max's ex-wife, Elena, brings their daughter, Polina, to Izluchinsk. But soon, Mayor Polyakov announces that Dream Valley is to be demolished.
A fire breaks out in Dream Valley. Nadya sees her son's bicycle near one of the burning houses. Max rushes into the flames... Dream Valley burns completely. Foreman Denis Mitrofanov dies in the fire. Sonya Khlynova, with severe burns, is between life and death. Investigator Novikov suspects that Max may have set the fire, with a motive: to collect money from the insurance company.
Sonya is in critical condition, and her husband, Yegor, is constantly by her side. Max has been arrested on arson charges. Lawyer Olshansky arrives in Izluchinsk to defend Max. Nadya intends to pay Max's bail by taking money from the safe at the Valley of Dreams sales office, but Elena stops her. It turns out that Elena once gave this money to Max and is now unwilling to lose it. Nadya decides to find the necessary sum herself...
At the hospital, Nadya and Yegor receive shocking news: Sonya has died. The doctor treating her believes she committed suicide. Nadya doesn't believe Sonya committed suicide. Kostya is preparing for Polina's birthday and asks his father for help. The brothers of the deceased foreman, Viktor and Pavel, come to Yegor and propose joining forces to put Max away so he can't escape justice.
Max appears at the wake and unexpectedly confesses to the arson. Yegor points a gun at him. Nadya doesn't believe her husband's guilt. After Miloradovich's confession, Olshansky will no longer defend him: Max has refused a lawyer. Max asks Elena to take Polina out of Izluchinsk and send her abroad.
Nadya thinks she's found the real arsonist. But neither Novikov, nor Olshansky, nor Max believe her and are unwilling to do anything. Nadya has five days to find the culprit before her husband is jailed. Meanwhile, Viktor and Pavel lock Polina and Kostya in the garage.
Lev is worried about Nadya; she visited Max in the pretrial detention center and still hasn't returned home. An unknown assailant nearly hits Nadya with his car. She believes the arsonist is behind the attack. Novikov asks Nadya not to get involved in police work. Meanwhile, Nadya is in despair, and her relationship with Max is crumbling.
Nadya and Lev find themselves locked in the garage. An unknown assailant sets the garage on fire. Nadya manages to call Max in the pretrial detention center. Max asks Olshansky not to wait for the firefighters and police, but to go rescue them. Victor is certain Nadya made up the arsonist story to keep her husband out of jail.
Nadya is depressed after what happened. Max tries to mend their relationship, but Nadya doesn't want to see him and decides to divorce him. An inspection commission arrives at the reserve, examining the demarcation line between the reserve and "Dream Valley." The commission asserts that the demarcation line was drawn using an inaccurate map, and therefore the village is subject to demolition. Nadya discovers that Lev has been deceiving her for a long time.
Nadya has changed her mind about leaving and is staying in Izluchinsk. The village of "Dream Valley" has a new owner: Yuri Tsymbalar, who has bought Max's company. However, the locals are not happy with his plans for the land. Nadya learns of Tsymbalar's intentions and, as the director of the nature reserve, goes to meet with him to demand that he change his plans.
Tsymbalar has grounds to blackmail Nadya. She must sign a construction permit, thereby betraying her father's business. The police search Nadya's home. Yegor tries to help her and joins the investigation. Max learns that Elena is in the hospital.
Tsymbalar holds a press conference in Moscow. Nadya gives a report, but not everything goes according to plan. Yegor figures out who's behind all the problems that have befallen Nadya and her family recently. Nadya and Max go to the ministry to find out why the inspections of Dream Valley began. Unexpected details emerge.
Nadya, Yegor, and Kostya learn that a woman named Romanova filed a complaint about violations at Dream Valley. Now they need to figure out who this woman is and what her motives are. Nadya is also trying to figure out who the blonde woman she saw at the fire is. Nadya's friend, Abbess Katerina, is rallying people to prevent construction equipment from entering Dream Valley.
Nadya receives serious threats. She is forced to flee Izluchinsk immediately with her ex-husband Lev and their son. If she refuses, Kostya's life will be in danger. Tsymbalar learns that Nadya has quit her job. The fugitives manage to obtain new passports…
