Jan and Morten throw the rucksack over their shoulders again. This time to take a closer look at the many Christmas traditions that are hidden around Europe. They start their adventure in Estonia, where the world's first Christmas tree was allegedly decorated and hoisted. And then they get an insight into the Estonian Christmas, which was forbidden for decades. Their trip to Estonia also offers a somewhat creepy overnight stay in a former Soviet prison, a crazy amusement park and a hotel where, according to the reviews, there's a high risk of bringing sexually transmitted diseases home.
The Christmas journey continues when Jan and Morten travel to Tyrol to learn more about the creepy Austrian Christmas tradition - Krampus. But besides scary monsters, the trip offers shrill yodelling and a smuggling route through the Austrian Alps and into Switzerland. The final destination is a small town called Samnaun, where Jan and Morten are to participate in the championship of them all - the Santa Claus World Championship.
Greenland has Father Christmas, the North Pole has Father Christmas, but there's only one place where Father Christmas actually lives - namely Finland. Here you can meet Father Christmas, and Jan and Morten have prepared all the questions they've been carrying around since childhood. But the trip up towards Santa Claus also offers plenty of reindeer, hard Finnish heavy metal, and a sauna experience out in the Finnish wilderness that they'll forget very late. A genuine Zero Star adventure in pursuit of Father Christmas.
After looking at a number of strange Christmas traditions around Europe, Jan and Morten have come home to Denmark. And the Christmas cheer is to be shared out when they return to Denmark's new Skagen - namely Gedser. Here they naturally accommodate themselves again with Jan at Hotel Gedser, because he doesn't have time to celebrate Christmas. He has to take care of the many guests. A fond reunion with one of the great characters from the many Zero Star adventures.
