Deacon finds one of his elderly customers poised for a suicide attempt on a windowsill six floors up.

Dawson Dairy is on the rocks, sales are down, and the bank is threatening to force them into liquidation. Deacon organises a petition and the milk roundsmen rally for a fight to save their jobs.

When old Cyril retires, the boys' noses are put seriously out of joint by his replacement: the stern, no-nonsense Joan Foster! Something has to be done.

Jock is off work with the flu. When Deacon and the boys pop by for a visit, they find themselves stuck in a busted lift.
