When a dismembered hand is found in a city pond, maverick cop Rembrandt Macy is drawn into a chilling investigation. His search for answers leads him into the secret life of the victim, guided by her roommate Nikki. As Macy uncovers a web of corruption, from shadowy dealings at City Hall to a ruthless gang of Asian drug traffickers, he realizes that nothing is as it seems, and that Nikki herself may be hiding dangerous secrets.
Yeah, it's a B-Movie. It stinks of B-Movie. It's a neo-noir sort of trope filled strip club obsessed cop movie...
... but it is an entertaining one. It is surprisingly well acted Even after the opening shoot out you could almost feel Berringer on the brink of a heart attack.
It's got old faces that still know how to pull a trick or two and some new faces that really need a shot at the big shows. Here and there, like the guy that owns the strip club, you see the standard stage fair, but even then the acting isn't so bad that it stands out.
It is a cheap little B-movie, but it's well written for what it is, it's very well directed, and it's well acted. Up the budget, polish the script, and you would have yourself a gem of a film.
